PROGRAM REVAMP COMING SOON?!

CITIZEN-ARTIST?

What do we mean by "citizen-artist?" This residency program is specifically designed for individuals willing to, for one intensive week, fully immerse themselves in the cultural landscape* of the Driftless. A citizen-artist is one who engages in the daily life of the residency's community. Citizen-artists will not work in solitude, but in conversation with the region around them. A citizen-artist will be curious, ask questions, stop and have conversations, and contribute to the creation of a regional identity through their work. You don't have to be a traditional fine artist. In fact, we highly encourage geographers, public historians, planners, and others in the sciences and humanities to apply.

*A cultural landscape is defined as "a geographic area, including both cultural and natural resources and the wildlife or domestic animals therein, associated with a historic event, activity, or person or exhibiting other cultural or aesthetic values." (See more>>>)
